Supporting sentences are very important parts of any paragraph, but in order to have great supporting sentences we need to start with a good topic sentence.

Analyzing Arguments
Argumentative writing is one of the most common types of writing out there, and can be found in many different formats. In class today, we looked at logos, pathos and ethos and how they are used in different TV commercials and finished up with an article written by Sebastian Junger, "Why would anyone miss war?"
For homework, I'd like you to finish the reading and answer the "Understanding the Reading" and "Analyzing the Reading" questions found in the slides.
